Q: You’ve been open about your sexual adventures in the past, you’ve had public conversations about orgasms and masturbation, and now you’ve launched your own sex toy. What does sex positivity mean to you?
LA: Sexual empowerment means taking my pleasure as my responsibility and having my own control over it. Masturbation is an important part of sexual self-determination, and masturbating and using sex toys have a huge impact for achieving that fulfilment.
Q: I love your title, ‘Chief Liberation Officer’. What are you liberating exactly?
LA: I’m raising awareness for sex positivity and female masturbation as the Chief Liberation Officer for Womanizer. That means I hope to have more conversations with people around the topic and help everyone feel more comfortable with speaking about pleasure.

Q: Why is the #ILoveMyself campaign so important to you personally?
LA: Loving yourself should be the most normal thing in the world. I think that female pleasure in itself is a taboo subject, and the only way to make taboo subjects no longer taboo is to speak about them openly and frequently and without shame or guilt.
Q: What is the biggest myth about sex you would like to change with the #ILoveMyself campaign?
LA: Masturbation is completely normal, even healthy, and should be part of everyone’s life. Sex toys play a very important role in my life, and even with a partner I find toys can be quite a lot of fun as well.

Q: What does loving yourself look like?
